About Podiatry and Chiropody
In the UK the terms Podiatrist and Chiropodist mean
the same. 'Podiatrist/Chiropodist' are protected titles
in the UK, meaning that they can only be used by those
registered with the Health Professions Council (HPC).
Inside the profession, Chiropody is used to suggest
the routine processes of foot care, whilst Podiatry
is indicative of the higher skills and academic levels.
At the Stress Exchange we offer a full range of podiatry for men and women from a routine check-up to nail surgery.

Ingrown toenails affect up to 10% of the population.
Your Podiatrist will try to alleviate the problem
with conservative treatment at first and surgery will
only be considered when this option has been exhausted.
The procedure itself is quite simple and takes just
20 minutes to perform. It is a relatively pain-free
procedure and is performed under local anaesthetic.
Healing times vary depending on the patient, typically
around 6 weeks.
You can be back on your feet and walking just an
hour after the procedure!

and then the toe may be dressed at home by the patient.

are interchangeable. 'Podiatrist/Chiropodist' are
