Lewis, our new hair salon manager, gives his take on the coolest trends from the runways…
It’s a wrap
“Scarves are one of the strongest looks for 2019. Weave them into low ponies, thread them through braids or wrap them turban-style for a vintage vibe.”
To stop your scarf sliding off shiny hair, simply pop a long, skinny scarf through a hair tie and then do a low pony. Now wrap the scarf around the ponytail ending up at the centre facing outwards, and tie a bow.
Bad hair day? You can cover up and be bang on-trend. Stylists at Dolce & Gabbana took inspiration from the fifties with colourful printed scarves wound around the head and tied neatly at the front; while at Tom Ford chic grey and taupe scarves were wrapped tightly around models’ heads totally hiding their hair.
If you’re jetting off to sunny climes a scarf is your best friend for those long, lazy days poolside. Slather your hair in a repair mask and cover completely with a scarf – deep conditioning and sun protection has never been so stylish.
Perfect pastel hair
“Our love affair with pastel shades continues with shades of misty rose, sherbet, lavender blush and wild primrose seen on all the Fashion Week runways.”
Thinking about a colour change for spring? Why not book a complimentary colour consultation with one of our colour specialists? Fade-resistant Aveda full-spectrum colour means we can offer each guest bespoke colour personalised to them every time.
Hair accessories are big news
“From retro hair clips to bold statement bows and ribbons, hair accessories have stolen the hair limelight for 2019.”
Headbands were everywhere in Fashion Week. Prada and St Laurent sent their models out with 60s and 70s inspired edgy headbands featuring colourful beads, textured padding and even studded leather. We also saw thick braided rope head bands which give a boho beachy feel when combined with tousled undone hair.
Bows, ribbons and clips can be chic, neat and classic or big, bold and look-at-me. Perfect for some quick desk-to-dinner styling.
Blonde and beautiful
“The Cara-inspired ice white look is giving way to creamy champagne hues, with warm and cool tones combined”
And it goes without saying that Balayage with its sun-kissed natural colour is still as popular and wearable as ever. This freehand hair colouring technique gives a blended multi-tonal look with no harsh or obvious re-growth.
